In the final seconds, pure elation erupted for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández stabbed home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and provided the temporary Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane represented the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch in class, making the recollection of Fernández's crucial intervention one to warm the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the home bench stood the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with 40 trophies for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match.
